The almond shelling production line is designed for processing almonds from the in-shell stage to separated and graded kernels. The line combines feeding, thickness grading, shelling, shell-kernel separation, and kernel grading in one processing system.
With a reference capacity of 1,000 kg/h, the configuration can be adjusted according to the customer’s raw materials, required capacity, and processing requirements. In addition to almonds, the equipment can also be used for other shelled nuts such as almonds, badam, hazelnuts, and macadamia nuts, subject to material testing and machine adjustment.
Almond Shelling and Grading Process
The complete line mainly includes an incline conveyor, rotary drum grading machine, dosing hoppers, almond shelling machines, conveyors, shell-kernel separator, kernel grading machine, and electrical control cabinet.
The basic processing flow is:
In-Shell Almonds → Feeding → Thickness Grading → Dosing → Shelling → Shell & Kernel Separation → Kernel Grading
The first grading stage separates the in-shell nuts according to thickness. After grading, nuts of different sizes can be fed into the corresponding shelling machines. This arrangement allows the shelling equipment to be configured according to the characteristics of the raw material.
After shelling, the mixture of shells and kernels is conveyed to the shell-kernel separator. The separated kernels then enter the final grading machine, where they are divided into different grades according to kernel width.

Flexible Almond Shelling Machine Configuration
The number of shelling machines does not have to be fixed. Customers can choose 3 shelling machines, 4 shelling machines, or more according to their required capacity.
For example, the 1,000 kg/h configuration can use multiple shelling machines working together. For projects requiring different processing capacities, we can adjust the number and configuration of shelling machines based on the customer’s raw material and production requirements.
This also makes the almond shelling production line suitable for different scales of nut processing projects.
Grading Before and After Shelling
One feature of this line is that grading is arranged at two different stages.
Before shelling, the in-shell almonds are graded according to thickness. This allows nuts with different sizes to be directed to suitable shelling equipment.
After shelling and separation, the almond kernels are graded according to width. The final products can therefore be separated into different kernel sizes for subsequent processing or packaging.
This two-stage grading arrangement is useful when customers have requirements for both shelling performance and kernel size classification.
What Nuts Can Be Processed?
Although this equipment is commonly used as an almond shelling production line, the system can also be designed for other shelled nuts.

Further Processing After Almond Shelling

Almond Roasting
